These activities are designed to prevent harmful environmental consequences by acting to avoid the consequences (e.g. building dikes and sea walls to prevent flooding associated with climate change-induced sea level rise and severe storms). For now, the GEF will only fund planning for adaptation. (Operational Strategy, p. 31) | |
