"The Digital Information Network in the Area of Environment and Sustainable Development in Central Asia and Russia.." (see attached flyer for more info) The network’s objective is to empower civil society for the participation in implementing National and Regional Environmental Action Plans and Sustainable Development Strategies, within a broader context of the Millennium Development Goals pertaining primary to Goal 7 "Ensure environmental sustainability" and Goal 8 "A global partnership for development". Special attention will be given to better mainstreaming of Goal 3 "Promote gender equality and empower women" into sustainable development and ICT-for-Development activities. The web-portal www.caresd.net (Central Asia and Russia Environment and Sustainable Development Network) was established in 2003 by the UNDP Office in Kazakhstan. |
