• Specialist in environmental management and policy development with more than ten years working experience in this field. Worked in different high positions at the Ministry of Environment of Georgia including departments of International Relations, Environmental Policy, Environmental Economics, and Projects Coordination. Experience in developing environmental policies and strategies. Participated in and led number of policy development processes such as National Environmental Action Program, Poverty Reduction Strategy, Millennium Development Goals of Georgia; • Expertise in designing environmental policy instruments, including economic instruments and financing mechanisms. Ability to undertake economic analysis of environmental policies and projects. Trained in total economic valuation at the World Bank Institute; • Expertise in design and managing environmental projects. Has managed number of internationally funded (EU TACIS, UNDP/GEF, DANCEE, OECD) projects; • Profound knowledge of environmental management challenges in NIS region. Participated in the Environment for Europe processes. Was a member of the Task Force for Implementation of Environmental Action Program for Central and Eastern Europe (EAP Task Force) and its Bureau for years; • Broad experience of working with international donors and financial institutions, including the WB, UNDP, UNEP, OECD. Served as the National Operational Focal Point of Georgia for the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and the GEF Council Member in 2000-2004.
