The Review—in addition to the analysis of condition, reserves, practice of utilization, and management practices —discusses the trans-boundary water issues since almost half of Kazakhstan's water flows in from neighboring countries. Consistent with the Millennium Development Goals, in particular Goal 7, the report offers an overview of the integrated water resource management concept, its application in Kazakhstan, as well as the progress and shortcomings in that regard. |
