  19 March - A high-level Iraqi government delegation led by Dr. Samir Raouf, Senior Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, met with UNCTAD officials today and finalized details on a programme to assist the country in using science and technology to spur economic growth and national reconstruction.
 11 March - ODA flows are likely to suffer in the wake of the financial crisis, judging by the evidence of past crises, UNCTAD warns in a new policy brief. An open-minded approach to all options may be the only way to avert a new shortfall in foreign aid.
 05 March - Secretary-General Supachai Panitchpakdi, meeting in New York with representatives of developing countries, warned of "adverse effects" from the economic crisis and possible "erosion of confidence in the international trading system."
