Description
The project involves sinking OFEDES wells in the village of Garin Mallam, in the Zinder region of Niger. The village has a population of approximately 1,200 people, with young people under 15 representing about 49.1%. Cases of diseases and insufficient consumption of unsafe water, including scabies and diarrhea are commonplace. By installing new wells, it is hoped provision of clean drinking water will improve, and incidences of water-related diseases are reduced.
