Description

The primary objective of this bridging GEF project is moving towards a sustainable management mechanism for the Caspian Environment (including the Framework Convention) and preliminary implementation of the Strategic Action Programme for the Caspian Sea. The primary outputs of this project will be filling of remaining gaps in understanding of principal transboundary environmental problems of the Caspian Sea, implementation of selected incremental interventions in the Caspian SAP (in the areas of biodiversity conservation, persistent toxic substances and invasive species), and development of capacity for project execution at both national and regional levels.
