Description :

I. Agency Goals and Objectives are:

a) Formulate and manage a freshwater and groundwater resources policy to ensure water resources management and protection in the Republic of Armenia;

b) Ensure implementation of measures aimed at provision and enhancement of National Water Reserve of the Republic of Armenia;

c) Ensure preliminary assessment of usable water resources quantity and quality, outline public and commercial present and future water demand in the Republic of Armenia;

d) Ensure preparation of the National Water Program and National Water Program of the Republic of Armenia;

e) Support to water resources management and protection as part of the National Water Policy and National Water Program;

f) Ensure implementation of the results and introduction of fundamental and applied scientific research in the sector of water resources management and protection;

g) Ensure forming demand for water resources quality and quantity monitoring;

h) Ensure keeping of the State Water Cadaster and making up the Water Balance;

i) Ensure Water Basin Management Planning
