What is it?
A blog is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log. A blog comprises text, hypertext, images, and links (to other web pages and to video, audio and other files).
Pro
- Is free if one signs up with blog service providers such as blogger, wordpress etc
- Does not require technical upgrades etc so one does not need any programmer assistance in using this tool
- Is easy to use and does not require any prior technical expertise
Cons
- Limited features - can not really start new thread / article
- Does not allow for depth i.e. does not store pages
- Can not have different formats: eg: a different page for a member profile and for an organisation etc
- Does not easily support editing / drafting by different people
- Is not interactive
- There's commenting feature in blogs. That does make some interactive to some extend. - Anjesh.Tuladhar 10:15, 21 Mar 2007 (CET)
