Funding opportunities for alternative drinking water technologies

UNDP offers ways of supporting and financing small-scale community and household based water supply projects, through its UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme and the UNDP Community Water Initiative. Both mechanisms concentrate on financing innovative small scale solutions with a scaling-up potential.

The UNDP SGP has supported numerous small scale rainwater harvesting projects throughout the world.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP), a UNDP supported international network of water expertise, has helped to launch SEARNET: the Southern and Eastern Africa Rainwater Network, which contains useful information on regional rainwater associations, projects, technical fact sheets and contacts in the region.
