A project in which a significant part of the funding is used for the acquisition of capital equipment or the creation of infrastructural benefits (for example, alternative energy technology or pollution abatement technology). Investment projects sometimes include activities in the field, which could be classified as capacity-building activities. GEF investment projects are undertaken generally by the World Bank. | |
