Uploading files

Every page has an "Upload file" link in the navigation "toolbox" (if you're logged in). Clicking this link and submitting the form will upload your document to the wiki. A link to the document is created at the bottom of the page you started from. Viewing the source of that page, you'll see something like at the bottom. You are free to copy-paste that link anywhere in the page where you want the file (link) to appear, or even remove it if the document is no longer relevant.

Embedding Images

Images can be included directly in the page, and are a great of improving the aesthetics of Waterwiki!! It is strongly encouraged that you add images to new articles you create, not only to increase the overall attractiveness of the wiki, but importantly, because "a picture speaks a thousand word". Therefore, adding images, saves on text.

The image can be uploaded, or linked to from an external site.

Uploading an image

Images can be uploaded in the same manner as files, (see instructions above). However, to make the image VISIBLE, must be translated to ("image", replaces "media" in the syntax).

NB: Images must be of 'JPEG' or 'GIF' formats for the upload to work.

Linking an image from an external site

To include a image hosted externally, simply paste the url of that image into the text.

Adjusting the image

Positioning an image

To position an image on the left, simply add the word "left" as follows. and likewise for centre, and right positioning.

Framing an image

To frame an image, simply add the word "frame" in the image syntax. E.g

Adding a caption

To add a caption to an image, simply add "caption text" in the image syntax. E.g The text "Danube River" will then appear in small below/in the frame of the image.

Re-sizing an image

Image:Waterwiki.jpg does not specify the size of an image. However, size readjustments can be EASILY made. Simply add the size dimension (in pixels) to the image syntax as follows:
Image:Wiki.jpg
caption

A list of all Uploaded files and Images can be viewed at Special:Imagelist. You can create a link to any of the files by adding the line to any location of a given page/article, as described above.
