Description
The project aims to raise awareness among indigenous community of San Carlos and Wiwinak in the use of production practices that reduce contamination of soil and water and thus set an example for the rest of Riverine communities. The Coco river in this area is shared by indigenous Miskito and Mayangna of Honduras and Nicaragua. Its main economic activities are agriculture, livestock and artisanal mining of gold in the river. The project seeks to influence changes to best practices to reduce pollution of international waters.
