Help:Layouts

From WaterWiki.net

Jump to: navigation, search

When you create a new page, you will be asked to choose a layout from a list including:

  • Article (generic layout)
  • Case Study
  • Concept
  • Country/Sector coordination
  • Country (portal page)
  • Glossary term
  • Organization
  • Project
  • Publication
  • Region (portal page)
  • Water Basin (portal page)

Or, if none of these fits the article, you can choose

  • No layout

It is unlikely that you will have to select one of the 'portal page' options, since these are been created already, but instead those listed above in bold.

Layout Directives

Once you click on the layout you have chosen for your article, you will see various directives. These are predominantly for admin users only, but it may be useful to read the following, explaining their meaning:

  • @lock-header - the header/title of the section is locked and cannot be changed.
  • @lock-text - the text is locked and cannot be changed.
  • @required - the section is required and cannot be removed.
  • @optional - the section is optional, and can be removed by unchecking the section title in the right-hand box.
  • @oldtitles=OldTitle1,OldTitle2- adds to a section in the Layout, a list of old titles. These will automatically be applied when editing a page with the old title.
  • @insert-above - when added to a section in the Layout, newly inserted sections will be placed above this one.
  • @sysoponly - when placed at the top of a layout, the layout is only available for sysops when creating a new page.
