Description

The main objectives of the project are;

  • Provision of safe access to drinking water, by setting up rain water harvesting units
  • Training and establishing a CBO to execute rain water harvesting.
  • Home gardening and organic farming.


The project is planned to complete in one year's time. this is started as a pilot project in the village hoping to expand with the community and the local government's involvement.

Notable Community Participation

Very high community participation. Women in the village have formed a CBO which is operated under the guidance of the NGO.

Capacity - Building Component

The NGO builds the capacity of the women's CBO in terms f administrative work and accountancy and helps to develop their own strategy to continue on thier own

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods

The project aims to develop home gardens with utility crops.

Gender Focus

Women are the major contributors and active partners in the project.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment

Very high rate of public awareness.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms

Innovative financial mechanism is operated in the consumer programme executed by the CBO
