I have a First Class BSc (Hons) from Bristol University, United Kingdom and an MSc with distinction from University College London. During my university summer holidays I gained invaluable experience working on international development projects on the ground in various African countries for a total period of 6 months. I have taken part in various development and environmental orientated initiatives in Namibia, and completed an 8 week long Water and Sanitation project in a remote rural village in Uganda in 2007. The latter involved working with other student volunteers from Bristol and Oxford University to provide Water, Sanitation and Health (WASH) education at both the local primary school and in the community; constructing a water tank for the school that harvests rainwater and protecting unprotected water sources in order to improve the quality of drinking water, and subsequently personal health. Capacity building was integral to our approach.
