Description
The aim is for the development of a full GEF Project in partnership between UNEP and UNDP to address constraints, barriers and associated implications through development of Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) mechanisms and Water Use Efficiency strategies, including:
- A process of policy and legislative reforms,
- Institutional and human resource capacity building;
- Adoption of an integrated and participatory management approach;
- The development of more effective, appropriate technologies and methodologies;
- The adoption of strategies to deal with extreme and chronic events; and
- The adoption of more appropriate resource valuation and pricing policies.
