Description

The Government of Uzbekistan has recently completed a national inventory of WSS services that has made evident the severely deteriorated state of WSS infrastructure and, implicitly, the need for key institutional reforms. GoU has requested broad support support from the donor community for sector investments, and five new WSS projects are tentatively identified in the World Bank's new CAS. As an initial step GoU is seeking technical assistance for sector policy reform guidance, which will inform the preparation of a sector development strategy
