Description

Recognizing that identifying and implementing solutions to the problems created by the water and energy nexus in Central Asia is critical to instituting growth oriented development strategies for the Central Asian Republics (CARs), the World Bank has prepared a report - "Water and Energy Nexus in Central Asia: Improving Cooperation in the Syr Darya Basin" identifying such solutions. The Objective of this Task is to disseminate the findings of this Report, discuss the recommendations with the four CARs, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, who are Syr Darya riparians, with a view to develop a consensus on the package of solutions to resolve the problems arising out of the Water-Energy Nexus.
